Monogram generator
Type your initials, pick a layout, frame and typeface, and download a clean vector monogram. Use it for a personal brand, stationery or your site’s favicon.
Monograms at favicon size
A monogram is a natural favicon: it’s the letters of your name in a shape. But the decorative details that make a monogram elegant on a wedding invitation (thin rings, delicate serifs, three letters side by side) disappear in a 16 px browser tab. For the tab icon, keep one or two letters and a solid background; keep the full framed monogram for 180 px and above.
The favicon generator does exactly that: type the same initials and pick a heavy typeface for a legible tab icon, while this page makes the detailed version for everything else.
Questions people ask
How does a traditional three-letter monogram work?
In the classic personal monogram, the surname initial sits in the middle and is larger, with the first-name initial on the left and the middle-name initial on the right. So Anna Beth Morgan becomes A M B. Type the letters in that order when you pick the Classic layout.
Can I use the monogram commercially?
Yes. The monogram you make is yours. The typefaces are open-source (SIL Open Font License) and the letters are converted to outlines, so the SVG contains no font file.
What file should I download for printing or embroidery?
The SVG. It is pure vector outlines, so it scales to any size and opens in Illustrator, Inkscape, Figma, Cricut Design Space and most embroidery digitising software. The 2000 px PNG suits documents and social media.
Can I use my monogram as a website favicon?
Yes: download favicon.ico here, or type your initials into the favicon generator for the full package with Apple and Android icons. At 16 px, one or two letters without a thin frame read best.
